Use the contact form or email info@cobanrugs.com with your requirements — size, design and any room details you have. We’ll get back to you with a quote and any questions we need to clarify before weaving bespoke orders. If we can’t supply from stock we will have your rug woven.
Bespoke pieces typically take 6–12 weeks from order confirmation to delivery, depending on the size and complexity of the order. This covers weaving, finishing and shipping from Turkey. Some popular sizes may be available from stock with a shorter lead time — please ask when you enquire. Lead times will be confirmed at the time of order.
Yes — bespoke sizing and designs is one of the things Coban does best. Rugs can be made in virtually any dimension by joining the required lengths with simple or feature hand stitching. Runners are woven to a specified width (up to 1 metre) and cut to your required length, with finished woven borders and fringed or hand stitched ends.
Yes. We ask for a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the cost of the rug, to confirm the order, with the balance due prior to dispatch. We accept bank transfer.
For a staircase runner, measure the width you want the runner to occupy (typically 50–70cm, leaving a border of bare stair on each side). For the length, measure the depth of one tread plus the height of one riser, then multiply by the number of steps. Add 15–20cm to allow for fitting. If in doubt, send us the number of steps and their dimensions and we can calculate the length for you.
They are fitted in the conventional way using non-slip underlay and gripper rods. We can arrange fitting or alternatively we can offer advice to specialist fitters. It is best to use fitters who have experience in fitting flat weave rugs.
Standard rug sizes are 120×180cm, 140×200cm and 170×240cm. Runners start from 60cm wide. Any size outside these can be woven to order — just tell us your required dimensions when you enquire.
Yes — we regularly supply coordinated pieces for a single project. A common combination is a stair runner and a matching hallway runner, or a rug and runner in the same stripe design. Because all pieces are woven from the same batch of fibre, the tonal consistency between them is reliable. Please mention if you need multiple pieces when you enquire.
All Coban rugs are woven from the yarn of spun natural goat hair, undyed and unprocessed. Up to 10% of each piece contains pure cashmere, woven into the structure to add a subtle softness. No synthetic fibres, no dyes and no chemical treatments are used at any stage. The colour range — black, grey, cream, ecru and brown — comes directly from the fibre itself.
Yes. Goat hair is one of the most resilient natural fibres available — naturally lanolin-rich, resistant to compression and slow to show wear. These rugs were originally made as working domestic pieces designed to last generations. Staircases and hallways are entirely appropriate locations. We can supply a non-slip underlay on hard floors for both safety and to preserve the rug.
Yes. Goat hair rugs are compatible with underfloor heating systems.

Because the colour comes from the natural fibre rather than dye, there is no dye to fade. The tones may soften very slightly with age and light exposure — much as any natural material does — but this tends to enhance rather than diminish the character of the piece.
Rugs are priced per square metre and runners per linear metre, both including VAT. Full pricing tables — broken down by width, colourway and finish — are on the and collection pages.
Yes. We supply small woven samples so you can assess the texture, weight and tonal range of the material before committing to a purchase or commission. You can request a sample through the contact form or mention it in your enquiry email. There is no charge for a single sample. There is a £10 charge for each additional sample. This is fully refundable upon return.
